The Great Wildebeest Migration (aka the Great Migration) happens every year in East Africa, as 2 million wildebeests and some 700,000 zebras, antelopes and other herd animals migrate from the Serengeti in Tanzania to the Masai Mara in Kenya. It's the largest terrestrial mammal migration in the world, in which herds move west and north following the rains in search of landscapes that are lusher and less dry.

Arguably the most famous moment typically happens between July and August when millions of wildebeests move into Kenya, crossing the Mara River. These river crossings make for a sight that's so marvelous the Angama Mara safari lodge invited four Kenyan photographers and filmmakers to come and capture the summer 2020 experience.
