An Owner Managed to Get the Perfect Coordinated Photo of Their Three Dogs
Getting one dog to sit still for a photo is tough enough, so imagine convincing three to do it all at once. That’s exactly what Max Ehrlich and his wife managed. They captured a perfectly timed photo of their dogs: Scribbles, Jimmy, and Chunwei.
The picture, shared on Reddit’s r/aww, quickly gained attention for its natural and coordinated appearance. Even Max admitted it took patience and practice to get them to pose together.
Meet the Dream Team

At the top of the photo sits Scribbles, a 6-year-old golden-brown mixed breed with a cheerful grin and a bright green harness. She’s the eldest and tends to take charge when it’s time to pose. In the middle is Jimmy, a 5-year-old Miniature Schnauzer with a salt-and-pepper coat and a confident stance. Her trademark beard gives her that classic Schnauzer look.
Up front is Chunwei, the youngest at just over a year old, sporting a white-and-red polka-dot outfit. Small and full of personality, she adds a playful touch to the photo.
All three are female dogs, and Max shared that they often meet for regular playdates. This gives them plenty of chances to practice sitting still together. Over time, these moments became a routine, with each session improving their ability to stay calm for just long enough to capture the perfect shot.
The Secret Behind the Perfect Pose
The key to their photo success is treats. Max calls it the “magic treat word.” Once they hear it, the dogs instantly sit, stay, and wait for their well-earned rewards. The consistency in using this command, paired with positive reinforcement, helps them stay focused and cooperative during photos.
Miniature Schnauzers like Jimmy are naturally sharp and quick to learn. At about 12 to 14 inches tall and 12 to 20 pounds, they’re sturdy little dogs with plenty of energy. Their double coat needs routine grooming, but it sheds very little—one reason families like having them around. Scribbles and Chunwei, both mixes, show how well variety works in a household. Mixed breeds often blend the best parts of their backgrounds: easy temperaments, good health, and a knack for fitting into any family rhythm.
Practice Makes Perfect

That photo came from patience and routine, not chance. Max and his wife spent time learning how each dog responds to structure and calm. Scribbles, the oldest, tends to move first when she hears a command. Jimmy watches closely and follows, while Chunwei studies both before joining in. That rhythm built over time until group photos felt almost natural.
Placement mattered too. The outdoor steps helped keep everyone in place, and the shot came right after playtime—when the dogs were content but alert. The timing showed in their relaxed faces and steady focus. For Max and his wife, it was less about luck and more about knowing their dogs well enough to catch the one moment when everything lined up.
