Elle McHale didn’t expect much when she uploaded a short clip of her dog Auzzy to @curedbydogs—but people noticed. This wasn’t your usual wag-and-smile moment. Auzzy’s face moved like he had something on his mind, each glance landing with perfect timing. You could swear he knew he was being filmed.
The video reveals a wide range of his expressions, each fitting a unique emotion.
Mchale joked in the caption: "He has a different face for every mood—he doesn't need words to tell me how he's feeling." That sentiment obviously struck a chord. She also quipped, “I’ve never met a more expressive breed. I think he’s part human.”

In a follow-up post, Mchale decided to rate his dramatic looks. Some reactions scored low, like the suspicious face at 2 out of 10 and the anxious one with a zero. Others, however, landed at the top.
After a walk, Auzzy gave a happy look rated 11/10, while “watching his human sheep” earned a solid 10. His “left behind” look also got a zero, showing just how much he dislikes missing out. The bored expression didn’t fare much better, with just one point, while his needy gaze received a middle-ground 5.
Although some followers thought Auzzy often looked glum, his owner quickly clarified that appearances were misleading. She joked, “Most of the time he looks sad, depressed, and neglected, but he’s actually the most spoiled dog alive.” According to her, that constant stream of judgment is likely just his personality on full display.
Instagram | curedbydogs | Auzzy's reel delighted thousands by illustrating dogs' profound non-verbal communication.
You don’t need a translator when it comes to Auzzy. That reel showed exactly what dog lovers have always known: they feel everything, and they show it. From side-eye to pure joy, he delivers it with his face alone. And honestly, with the way he plays to the lens, it’s hard not to wonder if he knows he’s being filmed.
