Awesome Dog and Human Halloween Costume Ideas
There are so many memorable fictional dog and human duos. Dorothy and Toto. Shaggy and Scooby-Doo. Timmy and Lassie. What better way to celebrate Halloween than by bringing along your favorite furry sidekick?
Dog and human Halloween costumes can be cute, funny, or both. So we compiled a few costume ideas to help you pick one that's just right for you and your canine candy-retrieving companion.
Characters from Pixar's 'Up'
Obviously, Dug would be the obvious choice for a dog and owner "Up" costume, but not every dog lover owns a golden retriever.
If you don't have a golden or a yellow lab, dress up your dog like the house from "Up" instead. Just turn sheets of cardboard into a house with a piece of elastic and Velcro underneath to secure it, and tie colorful balloons on top to complete the look.

Tools for this or any costume:
Chicken and Waffles
Few things go together better than chicken and waffles, but the only way to get such a mouthwateringly realistic waffle costume is to make one yourself.
The chicken costumes, however, are a piece of cake, and they're super comfy to boot.

Harry Potter and His Patronus
We love how unique this Harry Potter ensemble is. Most Harry Potter costumes feel a little tired at this point, but the white stag Patronus costume gives it new life.
Just wear a white jumpsuit, white face paint, a white wig and a set of white antlers. If Voldemort decides to attack your Halloween party, he'll be barking up the wrong tree.

A Queen and Her Royal Scribe
A queen and a royal servant make for excellent dog and owner coordinated costumes. Alternatively, a queen and king would work just as well.
If you're feeling particularly creative, you could even go as Marie Antoinette and a slice of cake.

Beauty and the Beast
Now this one's just cute. The beast is supposed to be terrifying, so there's something inherently adorable about having a tiny, fluffy beast prancing alongside Belle.
Both costumes are available online, so it's a super easy duo to put together. Tons of other Disney costumes come in dog versions, too, so you've got options.

The Cholula Hot Sauce Girl and a Taco
This pair looks more sweet than spicy, but we're not complaining.
To dress up as the Cholula hot sauce girl, you just need a bottle of hot sauce, a white blouse, a long skirt, pearl earrings, a red floral headband and a bold red lipstick. Half of that stuff you probably already have at home.
The dog is even easier.

S’Mores Ingredients
DIY costumes are a lot more work, but you can also get a lot more creative with them.
This DIY s'mores costume is made with nothing but cardboard, paint, duct tape and a pillow, and it makes for an absolutely hilarious costume for a couple and their dog.

A Surfer and a Shark
In our opinion, the smaller the dog, the funnier this costume is. Imagine a tiny chihuahua shark terrorizing the trick-or-treaters with kisses.
The surfer costume doesn't take long to throw together, either. Just wear a rash guard, board shorts and flip-flops, and cut out the shape of a broken surfboard out of cardboard or foamboard.
Paint it and add a stripe down the middle to complete the look.

Little Red Riding Hood and the Wolf
Little Red and the wolf make for an adorable costume for a little girl and her dog.
If you want to take the funny route instead, dress the dog up like Little Red and the little girl as the wolf.

Daphne and Scooby-Doo
This dog and human costume is a classic, and it's great because there are so many human characters from Scooby-Doo to pick from.
You can even dress up the whole family or a group of friends as all the characters, with your favorite pooch as Scooby.
