15 Times People and Their Pets Could Pass for Twins
People joke about pets and owners starting to resemble each other, but photographer Gerrard Gethings took that idea and turned it into a visual experiment. He spent years pairing humans with dogs whose features lined up in unexpected, sometimes hilarious ways. These 15 duos show how easily personality, posture, and style can blur the line between person and pet.
Afghan Hound and Henry

Henry and Hope look like they walked out of the same shampoo commercial. His straight, shoulder-length hair falls almost exactly like her glossy coat. Afghan hounds always bring a bit of drama, and Henry matched it without trying. When a breeze hit during the shoot, both of them turned into a surprisingly perfect match.
Saluki and Fenella

Fenella showed up looking like she’d stepped out of a costume drama, and Georgine, the saluki, matched her energy without lifting a paw. Those silky ears and long, elegant lines did most of the work. Gerrard leaned into their shared posture as both were tall, composed, and a little theatrical.
Poodle and Amelia

Artemis arrived fully groomed, curls shaped and bouncing, while Amelia’s hair naturally had the same ringlets. The pairing clicked the moment they sat down. There doesn’t seem to be any tricks here. Both held themselves with confidence, their chins lifted, shoulders straight, and curls framing their faces just so.
Pug and Sophie

Sophie didn’t try to mimic Percy, but the resemblance still landed because of their round cheeks, wide eyes, and that slight, curious tilt of the head. Pugs are masters of expressive faces.
Bichon Frise and Jessica

Jessica’s rounded hairstyle was already doing half the work before Buddy even entered the frame. His trademark puff-coat was all about symmetry, and her hair mirrored it perfectly. Gerrard originally spotted her in Clissold Park, where the resemblance was so obvious he stopped her on the spot.
Newfoundland and Adam

Doug nearly took over the entire set as Newfoundlands don’t do “compact,” and Adam matched his calm, steady presence from the start. The portrait came together in the second before Doug lunged for a treat. It’s a gentle pairing, built on shared ease rather than identical features.
Siberian Husky and Sergei

Sergei didn’t need wardrobe changes or props because his mismatched eyes did all the talking. Spike, the husky, shared the same blue and brown combo. With both of them staring straight ahead, steady and unfazed, the photo feels like two beings acknowledging the coincidence.
Hungarian Puli and Emma

Ralph’s corded coat seems like a full-time project, and Emma’s layered hair picked up the same style in a looser, softer way. Gerrard positioned them so that their textures played off each other, with Ralph’s cords fanning outward and Emma’s hair falling in clean, well-defined sections.
Dalmatian and Sally

Sally’s dotted headband and bright laugh ended up pairing perfectly with Raffles’ bold spots. The contrast is what makes this one work: she’s caught mid-laugh, he’s mid-yawn, and somehow the energy meets in the middle.
Rottweiler and Barry

Barry and Bubbles share the same no-nonsense stare. Rottweilers naturally look serious, and Barry’s squared jaw and buzzed haircut amplified that effect. The portrait feels like two bouncers evaluating whether you’re on the list.
Miniature Schnauzer and Cenk

Credit: Instagram
Cenk’s beard did all the heavy lifting here. Horst, the miniature schnauzer, has that classic swooped facial fur, and Cenk’s grooming landed in the exact same silhouette. They barely exchanged a word during the shoot, yet their expressions fell into sync on their own.
French Bulldog and Francois

Francois has a naturally intense stare, and Antoine the French bulldog meets him eye-for-eye. Their features line up almost too well: wide-set eyes, compact faces, and a hint of judgment neither fully admits to.
Italian Spinone and Harry

Credit: Instagram
Hattie, the Italian spinone, has wiry, lifted fur above the eyes, and Harry walked in with the human equivalent. When they faced forward with that slight tilt, the resemblance clicked instantly. It’s a simple setup driven by texture and expression.
Schnoodle and Benji

With a fluffy mop that drops right over the eyes, Harper the schnoodle matched the chaos of Benji’s hair. Together, they give off bright, playful energy that appears immediately on camera. Schnoodles can look wildly different from one another, but Harper’s texture lined up perfectly with Benji’s carefree style.
Chow Chow and Monica

Reggie’s thick chow chow mane wraps his face like a frame, and Monica’s orange hairstyle echoes the same style. The subtle detail of her lightly tinted tongue fits the breed’s famous blue-black coloring. They remain calm and composed in the shot.
