Taylor Swift Wants Jason Kelce to Get a Cat But Kylie Kelce Has Thoughts
Among all the Swift-Kelce rumors, fans are now tying Taylor Swift’s upcoming orange-themed album “The Life of a Showgirl” to the idea of the Kelce family finally getting a cat. Kylie Kelce fueled the fun on her Not Gonna Lie podcast.
Jason has held firm in his no-cat stance, but Kylie’s playful comments gave fans reason to run with the idea. The theory has now become a running joke — nicknamed “Operation Cat” — with fans imagining Taylor cheering Kylie on in the mission to change Jason’s mind.

The footballer has often said he doesn’t want a cat, even telling his children Wyatt, Elliotte, Bennett, and baby Finn that cats are “poisonous.” On her Not Gonna Lie podcast, Kylie mentioned a fan’s idea that Jason should surprise her with an orange tabby in honor of Taylor’s new album.
Kylie loved the suggestion, but laughed that if a cat ever came into the house, it might be her sneaking one in while Jason was distracted. Even then, she admitted it’s unlikely to happen soon and called it more of a long-term goal.

Taylor, who owns three cats named Meredith, Olivia, and Benjamin, saw Jason’s comment as a challenge. When she spent time with the Kelce kids, she introduced them to Benjamin, a ragdoll cat who enjoys being held like a baby. The kids were soon petting and holding him, with one happily declaring, “I find Benjamin. I find him,” before settling down beside him. Taylor used the moment to point out that Benjamin didn’t harm them and reminded them that even if he had bitten, he wouldn’t be poisonous.
The “Barn Cat” Compromise
Jason has floated the idea of a barn cat that stays outside and hunts rodents. Taylor immediately predicted the girls would sneak it inside. He has also claimed he’s allergic to cats, which Taylor questioned, saying she’d like to see proof. Kylie has hinted before that she could adopt a rescue cat while Jason is away and have it well established at home before he returns, effectively sidestepping his resistance.
Taylor’s First Impression of Jason and Kylie
This lighthearted cat campaign is fueled by the friendship Taylor has built with the Kelce family. She recalls first meeting Jason at the AFC Championship game in January 2024, where he joked about jumping onto a flaming table with the Bills Mafia. Kylie immediately shut him down, and Taylor says the couple turned out exactly as she imagined — funny, intelligent, and straightforward.
The Long Game
Kylie is certain a cat will join their family eventually, even if it takes years. With Taylor gently nudging Jason and the kids, clearly enjoying time with her cats, the odds might be in her favor, too.
